Notes

  • Follow up on this idea: The WP should function as a a "call to understanding" to educate audiences about the ToIP stack and the ToIP Foundation. By contrast, the ToIP website should function more as 'a call to action' and address why audiences should get involved in the work of the ToIP Foundation.
  • Judith Fleenor provided an update about new ToIP website and how the WP will be connected with the website and where the public might find WP on the website.
  • Drummond Reed updated current work process
  • Wenjing Chu proposes to move the Problem Statement earlier in the White Paper content.

Introduction

ToIP in a Nutshell

  • Drummond Reed High level summary to quickly capture what is Trust over IP. Bring up a TCP/IP metaphor and present two diagrams of the TCP/IP and ToIP stacks. We need to add a conceptual illustration of how ToIP stack.
  • Judith Fleenor shared examples how ToIP can be explained to average person from the grocery store or social party in one sentence using driver's license and digital wallet.
  • Wenjing Chu shared that the decentralization is one of the most important parts to be explained.
  • Carly Focus on decentralization part too. The challenge is it takes the whole government to create trustful documents currently. But in the future there will be many more documents that will be creating trustful documents. We provide tools and specification that simplify spinning up webs of trust in various ecosystems.
  • Lynn Gray Bendixsen Technical stuff is good in the White Paper, we coming back to decision who will be our audience.Start high level for a more general audience (include decentralized "story" etc.) then as you get into the specifics - perhaps gradually - get more and more technical.
  • Victor Syntez with decentralization, you control and manage your own data - of any kind.
  • Daniel Bachenheimerproposal is: "How about… ToIP is a set of rules that governs how trust is established among computer systems connected to the internet? "

ToIP Unique Value Proposition

  • Victor Syntez provided report on the ToIP unique value proposition survey. We've got 26 answers so far.  We need to try increase number of responses. We can also provide a way to discuss variants using extra wiki page.We will also announce this questionnaire during All members Meeting in August. Two most popular answers.
    • The Trust over IP Foundation is defining a complete architecture for Internet-scale digital trust that combines both cryptographic verifiability at the machine layer and human accountability at the business, legal, and social layers.
    • The Trust over IP Foundation is a unique global forum that enables a diverse group of members to collaborate on how to create interoperable decentralized digital trust infrastructure. We can explain the problem and then present ToIP in a Nutshell
  • Discussion...

Decisions
