Introduction

The Governance Stack Working Group (and the Task Forces within it) specify requirements, roles and processes for the governance architecture of the ToIP stack. For an overview of the ToIP stack, see the Introduction to ToIP white paper.

Scope

Define models and interoperability standards for governance frameworks that enable business, legal, and social trust  between entities implementing the Trust over IP architecture stack as defined in Hyperledger Aries RFC 0289 (or its successor as identified in the RFC document itself).

Task Forces

Much of the work on GSWG deliverables is performed by self-organizing Task Forces (TFs).

Current TFs

• Governance Architect TF — this TF completed its initial work in December 2021 — see this ToIP blog post for a summary. The new work will continue the next phase of governance framework component specifications.

• Attraction Pass TF - this TF (formally the Museum Pass TF) is working on the Attraction Pass Use Case for use by ToIP and other organizations.

Meetings

The GSWG currently holds meetings every two weeks on Thursdays. See the GSWG Meeting Page for the schedule of meetings and agendas, notes and recordings from all meetings.

How to Join

You can join this WG by adding your name under the Members heading above and/or signing up for our mailing list at lists.trustoverip.org. Our mailing list is governance-stack-wg@lists.trustoverip.org. Observers are also welcome (see the caveat below).

Participation

For the protection of all Members, participation in working groups, meetings and events is limited to members, including their employees, of the Trust over IP Foundation who have signed the membership documents and thus agreed to the intellectual property rules governing participation.  If you or your employer are not a member of ToIP, you may not participate in meetings by verbal contribution or otherwise take any action beyond observing.  To join ToIP and be able to contribute, please fill out the light weight membership application on our website here. 

Intellectual Property Rights (Copyright, Patent, Source Code)

The WG inherits the IPR terms from the JDF Charter. These include:

• Copyright mode: Creative Commons Attribution 4.0. 

• Patent mode: W3C Mode (based on the W3C Patent Policy).

• Source code: Apache 2.0, available at http://www.apache.org/licenses/LICENSE-2.0.html. The GSWG TA TF is not expected to produce source code.
