Meeting Notes

  1. Karl Kneis provided updates on two deliverables; Decentralized SSI Governance, The Missing Link in Automating Business Decisions (Lead: Carly ) and COVID-19 Credentials Initiative (“CCI”) Governance Framework V2.0. (Lead: sankarshan )
    1. Both white papers were  were approved by the Communications Committee and the Steering Committee as final deliverables
    2. Next steps – publication on GitHub, promote to website and socialize
  2. Scott Perry  provided update on the status of the white paper deliverables for the GSWG (link to deliverables here
    1. Risk Assessment Companion and Risk Assessment Worksheet Template to be submitted to Communications Committee with intention to move to Steering Committee for final approval
    2. Discussion concerning the importance of risk assessment and use of the companion and worksheet and discussion concerning current industry standards
    3. Next step – deliver final draft of Governance Metamodel Companion
    4. sankarshan  – The Governance Metamodel Specification and Companion doc provide an easy entry point, reads well and walks through steps that will be required- an expert will need to be brought in to organizations to help implement
      e. Scott Perry would like the community to comment on the work, make recommendations so the work can stabilize and move forward
  3. Rieks Joosten provided an update on the Decentralized SSI Governance white paper
    1. Victor Syntez provided a holder on GitHub  with summary information

    1. Review of WPTF focus areas including Author Guideline (approval process, submission process, responsibilities), promotion of white papers (to motivate ToIP community to publish) and alignment of effort/deliverables across all working groups
    2. Discussion on idea of central/foundation white paper for ToIP to provide overall consistent messaging and communication on the why and what of ToIP (e.g., ToIP value proposition)
      1. Rieks Joosten commented - would like to see white paper that focuses on what we are trying to do that no one else is – clean crisp focus
      2. Other comments – need to ensure communicate what ToIP does that is missing in all the activity outside
      3. Was discussion concerning the ToIP governance ideas (e.g., for ecosystems) that is beyond what organizations are doing today
