Topic #1 | Neil | 1. C2PA ReviewNeil Thomson gave some feedback on the review of the C2PA specification that he and others had been working on. Google Doc here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1rJ0mxZ4hc3g-ihe6y6Raz2kBQaFGL6vx3zJtzOUzH-4/edit#heading=h.3ah58ry1nm2q Neil walked through the work he has been doing on the review document above, and John and Sankarshan joined in discussion with Neil on how to frame and progress the document. The discussion centred around how we (ToIP) can learn from external ecosystems such as C2PA and GLEIF and use them to test/review our tools (such as the risk assessment template and companion guide) as well as provide feedback to the ecosystems.
Topic #2 | 2. Website updateThis is progressing based on the work that GATF supported to produce a Trust Canvas (https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1Jfnh1CadAUiih09TflhiaSYRw9PR7mNFjTINtEbDG1g/edit) - expected to be updated next week

00:07:04 Neil Thomson: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1rJ0mxZ4hc3g-ihe6y6Raz2kBQaFGL6vx3zJtzOUzH-4/edit#heading=h.3ah58ry1nm2q
00:11:07 Neil Thomson: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1rJ0mxZ4hc3g-ihe6y6Raz2kBQaFGL6vx3zJtzOUzH-4/edit#heading=h.3ah58ry1nm2q
00:21:12 sankarshan mukhopadhyay: The RA spreadsheet we have is also built around the trust triangle and examining risks in each part of that triangle
00:26:06 John Phillips: Link for Jo: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1rJ0mxZ4hc3g-ihe6y6Raz2kBQaFGL6vx3zJtzOUzH-4/edit#heading=h.3ah58ry1nm2q
00:32:01 sankarshan mukhopadhyay: I think GLEIF actually redid the ToIP RA in order to get their own in place. So the ToIP work is now also viral
00:33:17 John Phillips: That's interesting in terms of what's the newest representation. If ToIP lags, we should work on if/how to catch-up. Much like we can/should learn from each of the current initiatives
00:41:27 sankarshan mukhopadhyay: C2PA does not prevent the outcome of a situation like depicted in the movie “Wag the dog”
00:42:19 John Phillips: Reacted to "C2PA does not preven..." with 👍
00:44:27 sankarshan mukhopadhyay: ToIP work kind of skates that same line - it can demonstrate the veracity and authenticity of a document because it is verifiable. But it has no way to provide a commentary on topics like say legality of a document
00:44:56 sankarshan mukhopadhyay: So, C2Pa’s focus is both logical and depicts the limit of what is possible. Even though the audience tends to miss it at times.
