General announcements

All

Updates from TSWG members of general interest to the group.

  • @Judith Fleenor (Deactivated) wants to get the pulse of the ToIP community about whether we can/should participate in a major way in a conference on "Digital Trust" the two days prior (May 8-9th) to the LF Open Source Summit North American (May 10-12 in Vancouver: https://events.linuxfoundation.org/open-source-summit-north-america/).

    • The challenge is that the timing is the same time as the European Identity Conference in Berlin, at which ToIP had a strong contingent and a successful panel in 2022, and is planning to submit at least one new panel proposal for this year.

    • The Open Source Summit attendees would be primarily developers.

    • In our discussion, we were concerned about the time it would take to prepare, the amount of coordination that will be necessary between the four participating LF orgs (ToIP, DIF, Hyperledger, OWF).

    • Another option is to hold the Digital Trust conference as part of the LF Europe Open Source Summit in September in Spain.

New co-chairs and vice chairs

All

To start the new year, we want to see who wishes to step up into leadership positions in the TSWG.

  • @Drummond Reed has volunteered to join @Darrell O'Donnell as co-chair.

  • Any other co-chair volunteers?

  • Any vice chair volunteers?

  • Darrell noted that @Antti Kettunen has mentioned interest in being a vice-chair.

  • @Daniel Bachenheimer is interested in being a vice-chair to help with some of the administration and coordination tasks.

  • Judith suggested we also seek volunteers who are also going to be active in OWF.

ACTION: @Drummond Reed to send an email to the TSWG mailing list asking for other volunteers to serve as co-chair or vice chairs.
