EasyCLA

@Darrell O'Donnell

EasyCLA was recently turned on ToIP wide by the LF. Follow the EasyCLA process to get it configured.

  • It is a simple control that ensures everyone is aware of the IPR licenses used by ToIP. We had some inconsistent application of it.

VID or DID?

@Darrell O'Donnell

I shifted over a few months ago to use VID instead of DID. We're using VID as a general term more and more (Tech Architecture Spec, Trust Spanning Protocol).

But, when we get down to brass tacks, we have a call that returns the list of "VID Methods" which are really "DID Methods". As an example, the OAS has a call for `/lookup/vidmethods` that will really return DID Methods. DIDs are (mostly) VIDs so it works and allows extension.

Is this forward-looking and OK, or is it creating a non-normative problem? I don't see urgency as this can be in the Implementor Draft but it is something to think about.

ICANN79

@Darrell O'Donnell

We presented at ICANN79 yesterday: @Jacques Latour (Deactivated) led the charge. @Eric Scouten presented C2PA/CAI. @mathieu presented and demoed trust registry capability. I was fortunate enough to connect the dots between the pieces and explain how authenticity and provenance can help rebuild trust in the internet.
