2025-11-04 TSWG Meeting Notes

Meeting Date and Time

  • Apr 1, 2025 The TSWG holds a plenary meeting once every month on the first Tuesday.

  • There are two editions of the plenary meeting to accommodate global time zones:

    • The NA/EU edition is at 08:00-09:00 PT / 15:00-16:00 UTC.

    • The APAC edition is at 14:00-15:00 PT / 21:00-22:00 UTC.

  • See the ToIP Calendar for all meeting dates, times and logistics, including Zoom links.

  • We will produce one consolidated set of meeting notes for both editions together.

    • Where it is helpful, the notes will indicate which notes were taken in which meeting.

  • Antitrust Policy Notice: Attendees are reminded to adhere to the meeting agenda and not participate in activities prohibited under antitrust and competition laws. Only members of ToIP who have signed the necessary agreements are permitted to participate in this activity beyond an observer role.

  • In addition to the licensing terms of this Working Group’s JDF charter, this Working Group operates under the official policy that any Working Group Participant who makes a contribution to a Draft Deliverable shall have a maximum of 45 days from the date of that contribution to exclude any Essential Claims pertaining to that contribution.

  • New Members:

Technology Architecture TF@Wenjing Chu  @Drummond Reed

  • @Drummond Reed said the goal was to finish the final action item on the current draft of the ToIP Technology Architecture Specification in time for the ToIP Symposium.

Trust Registry TF@Andor @Antti Kettunen  @Darrell O'Donnell

  • @Drummond Reed said that there was an excellent session on the new revisions to the Trust Registry Query Protocol specification at Internet Identity Workshop two weeks ago. The next public review draft is expected to be ready for the ToIP Symposium/.

Trust Spanning Protocol TF@Drummond Reed @Wenjing Chu @Sam Smith 

  • @Drummond Reed reported that the 1.0 spec was proceeding nicely and that @Wenjing Chu would be giving a talk about it at the ToIP Symposium.

AI and huMan Trust (AIM) WG@Wenjing Chu 

  • This is no longer a TSWG task force, but now it’s own WG.

  • @Steven Milstein gave an update that within this WG, @Eric Drury is spearheading a new Agentic Task Force.

  • DIF also has a Trusted AI Agents WG that overlaps but complements this WG.

  • Reza pointed out that there is an industry Loyal Agents working group that complements both of these.

High Assurance VIDs TF — @Alex Tweeddale @Scott Perry @mathieu @Andre Kudra @Drummond Reed

  • Scott and Drummond reported that the spec has been waiting on @Alex Tweeddale to produce a new draft.

  • Alex would like to have that available for the ToIP Symposium.

DID SCID TF@Drummond Reed @Markus Sabadello

  • Drummond explained the overall architecture of self-certifying identifiers and the reasons that ToIP created the DID SCID Task Force.

  • Drummond explained why it is the DID method that the First Person Project is focused on.

  • Reza explained the relevance of this kind of verifiable identifier to decentralized AI agent infrastructure called KwaaiNet.

 

Prep for the ToIP Symposium

 

We discussed the potential to add another talk on Kwaai.
