To be a verifier in the network you need to have an identifier issued by gLEIF.
- every single company in the country will be issued an LEI and vLEI.
- DHI is going to be an LEI, vLEI issuer in Bhutan
Inclusion - everyone in Bhutan must have this identity regardless of if they have the technology or money. Bhutan must find was to ensure that all people can have these identifiers. e.g. custodial wallets. People are issued a wallet at birth that will stay with them their whole life.
Tech is the small part. More efforts on other streams compared to technology stream. E.g. marketing, inclusion, UI/UX.
Convincing the government about the risks and concerns of having a centralized database with lots of people accessing it was a lot of work
- point out the benefits of a central database would be out of date very quickly, instead have the ability to ask for information and receive it quickly and accurately
Going through a formal process to look at the security and standards of the system they have built.
Onboarding - facial recognition with liveness test.
Chat - you can't just search for someone, but you need to be able to scan someone's QR code in order to start a chat
Platform - on AWS, microservices.
