Mission

The mission of the Service Discovery Task Force (SDTF) is to develop specifications that enable discoverability of services in a decentralized context.  Our focus is on fostering a dynamic and scalable architecture where services, akin to those in distributed systems like Spotify, can operate independently and interact seamlessly.In our vision, the Service Discovery Specification will address the challenges inherent in a decentralized service architecture, such as the constant changes in the location of services due to the dynamic nature of machines in the network. This includes but is not limited to helping ToIP endpoint systems learn more about the following: 

• Service endpoints
• Service capabilities
• Service features

Deliverables

Currently, the TF has one deliverable/spec. technology specification as its main deliverable

As a Task Force (TF) of the Technology Stack WG (TSWG), the TRTF inherits the IPR terms from the TSWG JDF Charter.

Meeting Schedule and Notes

This task force will meet ad hoc and currently has TF will work asynchronously; there are no scheduled meetings. Zoom meetings will be called as necessary.
