Through strong linkage between these different VID approaches, the Working Group Task Force intends to establish a foundation for establishing profiles for High Assurance (HA) Trust Registries, Governance Frameworks and Digital Credential Ecosystems that are agnostic to the underling VID used.
The goal of the Task Force is therefore to demonstrate that a “bridged approach” to VIDs can leverage the bespoke benefits of each “VID flavour”, where each flavour can co-exist rather than compete. This results in a more robust, scalable, flexible and High Assurance architecture for VIDs that enable ToIP ecosystems to select the best VID for the specific context and purpose, without forgoing interoperability with other VID systems.
